Bi Luo Chun (sometimes written as Pi Lo Chun), can be translated literally as "Spring Green Snail" and is a rare Chinese green tea. It is made from the finest tender buds, gathered and processed exclusively by hand in an involved process that results in it having a tight rolled up shape. This is where the tea gets its name as the tight rolled up appearance resembles a snail and due to it being picked in Spring. Bi Luo Chun is renowned for its strong fruity aroma and mellow flavour.
A plantation growing Bi Luo Chun is amazing to visit, with the tea plants mixed in with a variety of fragrant fruit trees to give the tea its aroma and taste. Perfumy and sweetly floral, with a full body and slight earthiness ,ours is grown in Fuding, Fujian, an area surrounded by high, forested mountains with a mild, wet climate – a perfect tea growing environment!
Bi luo Chun is best brewed in white ceramic cup or clear glass, so you can see the downy pekoe covering slowly unfold, giving the leaves an appearance like that of a slowly sinking snowflake.
